THE HOUSE

Step back into the 18th Century and take a special guided tour of this impeccably preserved Georgian Villa. Newbridge house is nesteld on a 360 acre estate and filled with beautiful furnishings and ornate plasterwork throughout.

Built by the Archbishop of dublin, Charles Cobbe in 1747 as a rural retreat, Newbridge remaind in Cobbe ownershop until sold to the local counticl in 1985. A unique arrangement means the family are still parttime residents of the house and the collection is preserved in situ.

ENJOY an EXPERT TOUR

Their depply passionate and knowledgable tour guides will take you through three centuries of Irish history. Meander through the sumptuous reception rooms and sample the fine Georgian architechture in the only known house designed by James Gibbs.

While upstairs you will see how the Cobbe family have lived, downstairs you can explore the servants quarters and the workload and stories of the hundreds of staff involved in the running of a house and estate.

NEWBRIDGE FARM

There’s fun for all the family on their 30 acre 18th Century farm (and one of Dublin’s most loved) Follow the new interactive and educational discovery trail through the farm and say hello to their Shetland and Connemara ponies, pigs, goats, baby chicks and more! Newbridge farm helps to protect and preserve some traditional and rare breeds. Have hands on fun in Penny’s play pen and visit the Kerry Cow’s Mooternity ward! Meander your way through the walled garden and orchard back through to the fine square cobbled courtyard, built around 1790.

HISTORIC PARKLAND TOURS

Throughout the summer months one can explore one of Ireland’s best preserved parks. Come on this walking tour and explore the historic landscape of Newbridge, taking on the Brownian design, flora and fauna and stories of how our ancestors lived, worked and played outdoors.

How to Get there!

By Foot:

Easy walking distand (Approx 15 mins) from Donabate Village and Train station.

By Car:

Just off the M1 - Signposted from the M1 - Dublin to Belfast.

By Train:

Northbound trains from Connolly Station or Pearse St. stations stopping at Donabate train station - Approx 30 mins - see by foot info to get to the Site.
